Thats the problem, America spends too much on HC. Due to 3 reasons:
- Lots of unnecessary diagnostic scans. These are expensive.
- Too many people have no poor or no cover and are left to the very expensive emergency room.
- Because nobody wants to have a pre-existing condition people are reluctant to go to the doctors until the illness is mature and thus expensive (30 years of blood pressure pills is << cheaper than two bypasses)
That figure is, net profit, considering they have no sort of manufacturing capacity to ever expand or can expect any real economic down turns… thats massive.
The fact is, less that 70% of the premiums paid to insurance companies are paid out to provide care.
So its a requirement to complement long dead people? I hate that ‘founding fathers’ of the US of A were yeeehaaa great men.
No doubt they had some revolutionary ideas that are good and work. But pretending they were not flawed and putting them on a pedestal is a grave mistake and smacks of totalitarianism. Just Lenin worship in the CCCP.

Obama said the insurance companies are making large profits, but the insurance companies only made a 2.5% profit last year.
The Democratic Party has moved to the far left, and we in the center and right are extremely dissatisfied with the “Change We Can Believe In” politicians and their obsession with making our Nation more like the Europe our forefathers had left behind.
Many of our elected officials are no longer thinking of themselves as being our representatives, but instead refer to themselves as leaders in the true form of tyrants.
The liberals among us are supporting far-left socialist radicals with their agendas based on implementing socialist political doctrines into laws that are non-constitutional. This is a real threat to everything we hold sacred in America, and they are gaining evermore control over our Democratic Party, our Nation, and the American people.
In other words, our Democratic Party is undermining and destroying our American democracy as founded in protecting individual liberty and freedom.

What interest me is the fact that you would rather label me as a “lefty” instead of address the points I brought up. So, since you don’t want to pay for roads, what else don’t you want to pay for police, fire department, or the military? If your so concerned about the deficit then u should be for hcr b/c it will eliminate wasteful spending ie paying ceos 50 million a year.

Government run programs aren’t designed to make a profit, so they should be broke. Health care reform is designed to reduce the amount we spend on health care. We are currently spend 2-3 times more than any other country and our health care is rated in the low 30′s. Also, not everything run by govt sucks. U like the roads, highways, police, fire departments, universities, and military don’t u?
In fact it shows the economic incompetence of the US Right Wing–public Health Insurance is provably economically productive.
For profit Health insurance is a grand scam, and the for profit Health Insurers are pure parasites, selling vaporware and skimming trillions off the economy while buying the state.
